Michael Lohan is NOT posting suicide notes on Twitter.

Sunday evening, reports started spreading around the internet that Lindsay Lohan’s dad was getting ready to end it all, after an impostor tweeted goodbyes and said he was “heading to the Brooklyn Bridge.”

When the @TheMichaelLohan Twitter account went blank early Monday morning, with all tweets suddenly gone, celebrity gossip site Gawker wondered, “What just happened?”

We are happy to report that Michael Lohan is alive and well, and did not plunge to his death from the Brooklyn Bridge. Lohan says he does not, and never has had a Twitter account.

White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers admitted to the Associated Press that no one from her office was manning the door.

New Yorkers are used to seeing platoons of efficient p.r. staffers at entrances to private parties, armed with clipboards, checking names against guest lists. But Sen. Chuck Schumer implied it was amateur hour at the White House. “It doesn’t seem too hard to have a checklist at the door and to make sure that the only people who get in are on the checklist,” Schumer said.

Instead of preparing for the historic event, Rogers was spotted at Pastis on Ninth Avenue just three days before.

On Wednesday we saw a photo of a very slimmed down Kevin Federline and a very glammed up Victoria Prince making their grand arrival in Australia so that they can follow around Britney Spears on the last leg of her Aussie tour and today we learn some great news … K-Fed actually got a job! That’s right, for once he will actually be making money rather than leeching money from his ex-wife. It turns out that K-Fed and his ladyfriend got a gig doing an in-store appearance at an Ed Hardy store down under … which is prolly the only gig he can handle considering his skill set:

Kevin Federline has found a way to earn some money, and he’s following in Jon Gosselin’s footsteps by making it. Federline is currently in Australia while ex-wife Britney Spears tours Down Under, as the couple share custody of their two young sons. K-Fed spent his Thanksgiving morning in Brisbane making an in-store appearance at an Ed Hardy shop, along with his current girlfriend Victoria Prince. Ed Hardy is the same brand that has dressed Jon Gosselin and flew the otherwise unemployed, divorced, father of eight to the South of France with his girlfriend this summer. There was even talk of Gosselin designing kids clothes for the brand. The store appearance isn’t Federline’s only gig. The former backup dancer will appear on the upcoming season of Celebrity Fit Club, for which he has visibly slimmed down after briefly earning the moniker K-Fat.

Blech … this is just grosser than gross … but I guess at least it’s work … it’s douchey work but it’s work nonetheless. Mebbe this slimmed down and working K-Fed is a sign of things to come. Could it be that the leech has finally turned over a new leaf? I’m not really ready to believe that that is the case just yet … but at least it’s a start. After all, can you think of anything more apropos than K-Fed dressed from head to toe in Ed Hardy?

Usher caught in love-hate triangle with exec Grace Miguel and mom, Jonetta Patton

Usher’s new album isn’t the only thing giving the singer grief. Music industry insiders say he’s having lady trouble as well.

The R&B star — whose “Raymond v. Raymond” has been pulled from its Dec. 21 release date and shelved indefinitely — has found new love with record exec Grace Miguel, sources say. The problem is that she most recently worked at Island Def Jam Records, a competitor of Usher’s label, Jive.

“Some people see it as a conflict of interest,” says a music insider. “She’s still under contract with Def Jam, but Grace seems to be calling the shots behind the scenes on Usher’s album.”

Agrees another source: “It has complicated things tremendously. Usher has her calling the shots now. Grace has been taking calls with the big bosses at Jive regarding Usher’s CD, and the label doesn’t like it.”

That’s not all. Our insider says that Usher’s mother, Jonetta Patton, and Miguel aren’t exactly getting along. In fact, says the snitch, Patton is “mad that Grace is stepping on her toes and meddling in her management affairs.”

This must seem like déjà vu for the crooner, whose mama and ex-wife, Tameka Foster, famously fought over control of his management. Patton was fired as Usher’s manager in favor of super-agent Benny Medina in May 2007, but it was rumored that Foster was behind the dismissal. Mama Patton was reinstated in August 2008, and Usher filed for divorce from Foster last June.

Says the insider: “Jonetta sees Grace as a rival for her son’s attention — just like Tameka was — and, even worse, she thinks all of Grace’s meddling could affect Usher’s album.”

Miguel couldn’t be reached for comment by deadline.

Meanwhile, a rep for Usher insisted that “there is no internal conflict. Usher’s album was pushed back to give it the proper setup it deserves.”

A rep for Jive agreed, saying: “This is a solid album that we believe in. We want [more time] to give it a proper launch.”

They may want to throw in some hotter tunes while they’re at it. The first single from the CD, “Papers,” stalled at a disappointing No. 31 on the pop charts.

A magnitude 8.3 earthquake struck the Samoan Islands Tuesday at 6:48 a.m. (1:28 p.m. ET) according to the U.S. Geological Survey, prompting warnings for islands around the epicenter. Water flowed inland about 100 yards before receding, leaving cars stuck in the mud.

Reports indicate that at least 40 people are dead. Meteorologist Mase Akapo said the deaths occurred in four different villages on the island of Tutuila and in neighboring Samoa.
